It is inherently an unstable joint and requires the surrounding tendons and muscles to be strong and stable. Most shoulder problems are a result of muscle weakness. However, there are lots of other potential structures in the shoulder that may cause pain and discomfort. Very few injuries of the shoulder require surgery and can be managed with the correct rehabilitation strategies.
